minifins/superfins are they any lighter than standard drums?

My god yes!!

the minifin is alluminium exept for a band inside for the shoes to grip, as aluminium is what, about 1/3 the weight of steel? I guess they must be about 40-50% weight compared to a std drum.

although, i suggest limiting the braking to the rear (not a bad idea anyway) as they can grab as they are more prone to flexing.

oh thats superb news that they are lighter!

where is the best place to get these at the moment, i'm possibly hinkin of getting them 2nd hand but not sure?

also is there any way to lighten the stanard radious arms as i have some recon arms but wish they were alot lighter

there been quite a few new sets of minifin copys on ebay lately for about 50 notes,

with the arms theyre hollow so theres not alot that can be done short of getting some expensive alloy ones.

Limiting the rear braking? I have always had good results on INCREASING the amount of braking effort to the rear of the car, the standard limiter valves lock off the braking effort too early, by fitting an adjustable bias valve then you will find it is possible to use quite a lot more rear braking effort in the dry, you just need to be a bit more careful in the wet.
