I think Mr Vizard reckoned around 15 thou stretch @ 8k.

Some engine builder's like to have the pistons down the bore a tiny bit (10 thou Max) on large overbores (73.5mm) as the piston can touch the fire ring on the headgasket allegedly.

I have never seen that happen on mine, I have taken it to 9300 rpm, and have 73.5 mm bore. I have zero difference between the pistons and the deck.

Do you have gasket overhang? What gasket are you using?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

well i said allegedly!!*laughing*

I have "heard" of it but not seen it first hand, It may be a problem that sometimes occur's if you don't offset bore or something.

I tell you this, my Nat Asp 1399 has a shed load of overhang and no other offsetting would make it any better. the BK450 gasket chamber is 73.5mm by 73mm. so even on a 73.5mm bore there is tiny amount of overhang. also note that that is an uncompressed gasket, the chamber would get smaller when compressed.

Edit

Mind you the crown of the piston is about 20thou smaller than the bore any way
