Just wondered if anyone had heard anything about these guys at all, i'm trying to find somewhere local that will be able to prep my shell (when I can find a good one!!) to exactly what I want.

I can see from there website http://www.brownspeedracing.co.uk/ that they do race car prep so should be able to sort me out a stripped out affair with cage etc. Plus they aren't far from where I live (30mins).

Seems difficult finding somewhere locally you can put your faith in for doing bodywork, I have had work done before and been let down although this has been cash jobs and accident repair centres and they just don't seem that keen to do a good job.

What do you think??

We recently had our sportpack repaired after a small bump on the n/s/r corner. The bloke did a really great job for a very reasonable price, but he's based in Hitchin - a 300 mile round trip :( Excessive you might think, but the quality of the repair and paint made it worth travelling.

I went to college to learn to weld, but I'm still a little unsure when it comes to tackling body repairs. I would be interested to hear of someone closer to home who is capable of, and prepared to do a good job on a mini.

Hey up Neil, i totally agree with what your saying, i did some welding as part of my apprenticeship (few years ago now though!)

I might go and see this brownspeed place seeing as its only just past gainsborough

I found the reference to them after I saw a miglia shell for sale on the mini7 website that had been prepped by brownspeed.

I'll let you know if I find out anything

I have seen Mr Browns work, I know someone who has a miglia built by him, without try to sound negative, although I am biast, have a look at www.owensfabrication.com

Team Racing

Alex i'm after getting a fairly race/rally inspired shell sorted out, fed up of rusty minis. So just going to be patient and wait for something to come up while I raise some cash.

Although at lunch I heard about a fully rally prepped mini that a solicitor had build but never used thats going for good money, so it might happen sooner rather than later!!

Jimster, i'll have to check out the site when i'm not at work!! I'll take your comments onboard, especially when you have seen his work.

Also altrezia said you might be able to help editing some videos i have from the rolling road day last week. The main problem is that the 30 sec clips are about 25mB, any suggestions as at present it takes about 8mins to download them of the turbominis album!!
