Tank mod is straight forward.

Just get a piece of metal pipe braized into the top for you return line to go onto.

I also had a larger feed braized in.

For the metal pipe, i just used the stuff off the metro turbo i broke but any 8mm id stuff will do the job.

on the tank outlet, isnt there a bent bit inside the tank with a filter thing on the end? does this have to be removed?

or how about you put a T piece in the fuel line and you wont have to run it all the way back to the tank

the t-piece has to go before the pump, so it has to be ran back to the tank.. so you may aswel do it properly seing as your there.

i know the t-piece methind may work, but why not go to that little bit of extra effort and brase in a return feed, it isnt hard.

I agree there, i cost me a tenner to have the pipe braised in. I drilled the hole and got the pipe sorted then just gave it to them to braize.

just a correction/ it not "may" work it does.
and i know the job is easy, peasy but the difference is that the T piece is a 5' teenager work, modifying the tank need remove it fill with water , braze, clean, put back

I WANT to mod the tank....

i know how to braze in a return feed, but i DONT know what to do with the outlet on the tank as it has a filter thing attached doesnt it? do i just rip all that out and lust have a larger bit of pipe welded in? this is the bit im unsure about.

Yep, rip it all out, get it out through the sender unit hole.

Then fit an inline filter between the tank and the pump to do a better job than the in-tank one did!

Not sure all mini's had an inside filter but you'll soon find out!!

Sorry to have hijacked YOUR thread,
I was thinking to help others who reads this nad that they should know that they can use an injection tank, a modified tank , or a T piece.

Yep, sounds spot on.

As fab said the T piece return thing does work but the top return is tried and tested and good for big BHP should you want it.

Id just stick with the length of the car, i bought 10m of rubber hose, more than did the job.

Im running everything internal on the new project though! *wink*
