Working up the BHP ladder.

With everything built up and ready how long does it take to convert from a std mini lump ova to a turbo setup? Can this be done in a weekend?

If you've just got to change the engine and gearbox over and sort the bulkhead box. No problem. *wink*

Its all the other bits take the time, mounting fuel pumps,FPR, running fuel lines, modifying tank etc.

Good advice, i'll run the extra pipes and mount the FPR first. Wanted to make sure there wern't any nasty lil suprises!
Do most ppl fit a modified tank or modify there own?

I modified my own, all you need to do is add a fuel return to the top of the tank.

I think some braze a large Diameter pipe on the outlet to run larger hoses aswell.

If you've got any knuckles left by the end the Exhaust clamp will finish off the rest of them. Lol *wink*

Working up the BHP ladder.

As the heater will be out anyway, i was considering cutting an access hole, and manufacturing a bolt on cover?

Your thoughts?

Welding bolts to the clamp definately helps.

Access hole will probably not help much, as you have to hold the clamp and exhaust in postion whilst tightening it up.

Best thing to do is get the exhaust in postition (downpipe as vertical as possible to help it seal)
and place wood under it till it meets the turbo elbow. At least then you've got one less thing to hold into place.

Removing clutch slave cylinder and tie bar also gives better access.

If your using a larger bore exhaust you'll need to either modify your existing clamp or buy one.

Dave's covered the mods in great detail, so it could be worth doing?

a 1/4" drive ratchet makes the exhaust clamp a hell of a lot easier.

as for the fuel return you could always just T piece the return back into the feed line inbetwwen the tank and pump. Saves lots of hassle with modding a tank, mines been fine like that for over 2yrs now.
