Read the bit on manchester minis,Dave reckons 40 i/d is the best. But peaple use 51 as it's easier to get bends.

Looked on merlinmotorsport site and there are plenty of 45mm bends, but my I/C is 51?(ser2 rs)

so should i go for 45mm for most of it with a 45/51 adaptor on the end.

or all 51 then down to 45 for the turbo outlet

i personally dont think you'll see any difference. with the 45 though it may be easier to route *smiley*

40mm is the best going off the theory.

As soon as you bring a bend into the equation - efficiency drops significantly; hence 50mm is a better bet.

I dont know if it will pass muster on high boost apps. but i was gonna use some 51mm 90 deg. silicon bends and alloy tubing using an series 2 rs turbo i/c) from this lot:

www.nfauto.co.uk

the cheapest place ive found by quite a long way and have been decent with me on delivery to the isle of man.

thin walls are a good thing. the normal silicon hose is massive over engineered. think you only need 2 ply to cope with the pressure involved where as most is atleast 4 ply.

well im only using the straight reducers at the moment, run 20 psi at retro cars and avon and not burst any yet so at the pressent moment ive go no complaints. i dont think there as thick as samco etc.*smiley*
