Am i right in recalling that this is actually something like a 1/4" spacer - whereas the MG metro had a 1/2" spacer?

Anyone confirm?

yep i noticed that too,

do you think its related to the inlet on the turbo being a touch longer, or just trying to reduce the amount the plenum rides back into the bulkhead

I know the spacer is there to allow the throttle lever to clear the inlet manifold, the manifold also has a small machined rebate for this purpose too.

Remember in the metro dan, bulkhead clearance wasn't an issue, I have often wondered if they did it to limit heat soak from the inlet to the carb.
