Hi All,

I have been using this site for a year or so now but only recently joined as a member, wasn’t sure if I would ever get the project moving (the car i started with was a complete wreck), but now i have, and gone down the turbo route, i have joined up, I’ve posted a few things on here asking for help / advice etc when things haven’t gone to plan.. and got some great advice! so thanks.

Was hoping to get the car up and running this summer and get to some shows but that looks to be a bit ambitious now, still got substantial work to do.

however I thought it was only polite to properly introduce myself, and say Hi.

also to post a spec of the car, to get your views, where I could make improvements etc.. (sorry no pics as yet however i will get this sorted this weekend)

1978 Clubman GT
Flip front Fibreglass front end
Fibreglass rear valance and boot lid.
Carbon Fibre Roof.
Polycarbonate windows sides and rear.
Clubman seats with 4 point harnesses.
Negative rear and adjustable front camber.
Gaz adjustable shocks with adjustable ride height.
Cooper s rear drums, metro turbo 4 pots (currently still to fit).
Fuel and brake lines run inside car.
6 point cage (currently still to fit)
Right hand cooper s tank.
6x12 Superlights
Yokohama Advan A048 tyres

1380 block with Forged Omega pistons
standard metro T3 turbo set up, actuator etc.
MBC valve
Med ported and polished low compression head 36 x 30 valves fitted with twin springs.
n/a metro 1275 cam
Reground and balanced crank
Lightened and balanced flywheel.
Duplex timing chain etc.
Straight through exhaust with palymini back box.
Renault 5 intercooler (currently still to fit)

(will be looking to develop the engine over the next few months)

Hi Nic, was thinking of a cam and rockers change.. what do you suggest?

if the roof is in decent condition then i really wouldnt bother with the Carbon Fibre Roof.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

yep would be nice to see ya about Stig, hoping to get it all finished soon.. but been saying that for about 3 months now!

Hi Carl, the roof is bonded on (after the old one was cut out, leaving 3 inches all the way round) with a special adhesive, bought from curley, then it was blended in.. took ages! but its a nice rare addition.

Hello and welcome, sounds an awsome car. I can recommend either the 266 kent MD cam or MG metro cam, alot of users on here have also had good results from avonbars phase 2 cam, all with 1.3 rockers. Would love to see this car in the flesh one day.
