Just planning a turbo build to put into my stripped out road mini and install next year when my insurance will be a tad lower (am only 19, 20 when intnded to be on the road with turbo engine) will this still be insurable for me (at a reasonable price)???

For the engine was thinking along the lines of 1293 but would love a 1380 or larger is there much difference between them other than 87cc. I have a complete t3 turbo, exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, HIFF44 carb etc off a metro turbo, have a set of 1275 cooper s rods and a cooper s crank. The plan was an A+ block with a head from avonbar etc and cooper s crank and rods, what would be best to build with these components, displacement, pistons etc.

Any info or advice would be grate all chip in I also have a maniflow HIFF44/38 N/A inlet manifold could i use this, would it be beneficial aswell or is it best using the metty turbo one.

I have the opertunity to buy a pace charge cooler reasonably cheap RRP around 500-600 notes from a turbo escort does anyone have experience of these are they suitable for a metro turbo engine in a mini advice on this would also be great.

Many thans Chris Barkas.

Cooper S rods and crank are rare and valuable bits of kit to the right people and are overkill for what you want.

My advise would be to either use the Cooper S rods on a stroked 1275 non-S crank to build a stroker engine, or otherwise flog your Cooper S stuff to gain £££ to put towards your build. This assumes it is pukka genuine 60's CooperS stuff and not the 90's Rover Cooper stuff.

Yeah that was the rrp, he is asking for around 150 notes may come down tho after a few drinks down the local tho *tongue*

Was thinking of using the cooper s stuff as will this make the engine stronger and be able to rev higher, just a thought as i love revvy engines as well as turbos so why not mix the best of both.
