Hi,

Im looking for a little help here!
My mini is firing fine on all cylinders at hi revs when I leave her running on choke but as soon as I bring it down to Idle speed its only firing on 3?
I have checked the dizzy, Leads and plugs and all are functioning fine, Ive also confirmed the valve clearances are fine.
Im going to do a compression test tomorrow but was wondering if anybody has any other ideas as to what else may be the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated?

thanks
Mark

Cheers mate, Ill check the air fuel mix and go over the carb aswell, I was thinking also it might have something to do with the fuel pressure?
Im actualy looking for a lambda sensor on Ebay, i already have the meter just need the sensor!
thanks

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i suspect that you have a blown head gasket between 2&3 bores if all else checks out

a CR check should find this if done correctley!

keep us informed

Well I done the comprssion test yesterday evening and nothing showed up, all cylinders are fine with little or no variation, so tonights task is to check the carb and manifolds for any leaks, I might even put on a NA carb to check if the carb is my problem...
But any other possibilities that any1 can think of would be appreciated,
thanks again

Sounds like a problem with the needle, when i first got into minis i stuck a stage 1 kit on a 1275 without changing the needle and it used to misfire like hell low down the revs, the only way i could run it was with the choke on. Also are you using an electronic alternator from the metro?? If the bolts holding the module onto the dizzy have come loose this can cause terrible misfiring. But it sounds like a fueling issue to me!

Hope this Helps

leaks like you say check this out fully!

it could be an intermittent fault on the coil as well swap this to check it out for a known one

ignition module ?

Hi Lads, the Dizzy is the 123 Ignition system which has no module but I would have suspected that if I was running the standard Dizzy, I found a small air leak at the manifold so Im going to get that sorted and see if it makes a difference, also It appears one of my leads is working properly intermittently possibly causing the missfire, Im going to put on a new set and get her on the RR to get the timing and fuel sorted, and check the carb again.
thanks again
