When you are trying to find what pistons, valves and chambers size you are going to use for a 1293 turbo from where do you start? How do you choose the parts? You choose a c/r and then go find the parts required to achieve it? What c/r would you suggest for a fast road turbo mini??
Thanx guys

you need to consider what power and boost you want to run. *smiley*

im sure a search might answer your questions.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I'd start with the big yellow book.

Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

Valves: If starting out - then a 35.6/29mm combination using Rover valves is hard to beat for the money...

Pistons: Cast pistons have proven time and time again to be plenty strong enough.
MiniSpares Mega are my preference (cheap too)

Crank: Leave standard

Rods: lightly machined / balanced with ARP rod bolts as a must.

Camshaft: SW5 / MG / Avonbar ph2 / etc....

etc, etc, etc.

As advised - buy the big yellow book. Bear in mind that what you put in your engine is one thing, but the choice of turbocharger (and boost) and intercooing will ultimately yeild (or limit) the true potential of your engine...

Vizard, Tuning the BLs A Series Engine or T-BASE as it is known to some.

This gives an in-depth insight into tuning the A-series and also covers turbo-charging.

It is important to know not just what works, but how and why it works. This book is a good start.

Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

You can't just answer a question like that.

Ok - well you can - but not on this forum.
