Fastest A Series Mini in the World

leeds/wakefield.

well i had a day out at york raceway yesterday, and as some of you may know there is 13 miles of country lanes on the final approach,
i was in no rush so poottling along towing the mini,

and for no reason thought to myself that it was odd that i'd not seen any cars or bikes in the fields along the way.[by this i meen dickheads driving too fasst and getting cought out by some of the blind bends, on average about 3 a year come to greif on these roads that i see during my 8 trips] so far this season,
when low and behold i round one of these decerning bends to be confronted with the rear of a bloody saxo parked up right on the inside of the bend ,along with about 7 other cars ,
i thought ,silly bastards stopping there for a chat , then i noticed one or two of the lads looking across the road with there heads in there hands, ,

and what were they looking at? , yes you got it !!

nova in the hedge , back end almost in the field and the front nearly off the ground,.

on my way back i found the spot and there was no skid marks , so he must have been traveling at a pace not to have time to react and just understeered off into the scenery,
lucky for the dim dick there was no one coming the other way.
or he would have had some explaining to do,lol,

tbh he got away with it lightly as some of the other bends have big irrigation ditches to fall into, shame really.
hopefully hes learned something from it .

LOL!

I saw a chavmobile in a hedge on the way back from York on one of my last visits - the sharp (almost 90-degree) LH bend next to a sign saying lumber / saw mill / something like that...

Never met one on the road over there though - it was the wankers on the motorbikes that scared me more than the chavs...

Reminds me of the time I ditched my Austin 1100 just outside Santa Pod in 1975.

We've all done it at some time, I'm sure.

Top picture was how it landed. That's my missus in the photos, as the friendly copper is taking the photos. I was in Macclesfield at the time, so nowt to do with me - all her own work.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

I've only been to york twice and seen a ditched car on one of those occasions. it was on a right hander where the road looks like it could go straight on but doesnt!

Sierra or something i think it was.

You're about spot on there Tom. Unfortunately my missus had no concept of the phenomenon, and I wasn't suprised when it happened.

She was fine, but is now a much more nervous passenger.

A poor effort compared to this!! My colleague had punctured lung from this but lived - similar scenario lift off oversteer!
