I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A MINI BUILT BY THE SAUBER F1 MECHANICS,REPUTED 200BHP,VERY HIGH TEC(SCAREY)
HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS MINI?
IT WAS BUILT IN GERMANY AND IS LEFT HAND DRIVE BUILT USING 1972 COOPER S SHELL,PAINTED PORSCHE BLUE/BLACK.
I WILL TRY TO GET PICS OF ENGINE POSTED VERY INTERESTING.

did you buy it off ebay? was one on there not long ago with a claimed 200bhp and porsche intercooler.

would be interested to see this rr printout for this

HI GUYS.
PAID ?1500.00 FOR IT.AMAZING PIECE OF KIT,HAD IT RUNNING
TODAY WHEEL SPINS IN ALL GEARS(ANYBODY GOT A LORRY LOAD OF TYRES)TROUBLE IS I CANT FIND ANY WAY OF REDUCING BOOST(ITS GOT TWO BOOST GUAGES EACH SHOWING 20PSI)BUT I THINK IT NEEDS REDUCING BEFORE
I BREAK MY WRISTS.

For starters mate dont type in caps. its like shouting, considered rude on most boards :)

For a car runing that kind of boost id recomend you get it to a rolling road whose operator knows a-series turbos and get the boost set to levels you want and a good going over to check the fueling is ohk :)

im being quiet now,yes it was bought off mark nolan formerly
bankminis or better known on ebay as worldexporter.
i live in solihull west mids.car has only done 1800km needs tidying but will be worth doing,may sell after for right money.

Am i missing something here??

I remember seeing a mini in miniworld that looked a little like the mini being discussed here around 3(?) years ago... Had an AMG intercooler in the inner wing, 13" minilight split rims, oil cooler under the number plate, etc... I don't think this is the same one...

Anyway, lets welcome our new guy! I reckon ?1500 is a very good price...

One word of advice though - get it to a 'Good' rolling road before booting it anymore. For all you know it could have been set up to run on Avgas or similar, or maybe has been 're-tuned' by a moron since it left the original owner... 20psi causes damage VERY quickly!

No idea!!!

Is the bodywork (structurally or cosmetically) as bad as the auction lead it to believe?

Are both the gauges boost, or could one be for fuel pressure?

body is solid,just cosmetics.porsche intercooler and filter,front rad and fan,front oil cooler.oil filter moved to offside inner wing.gear linkage inside car not underneath.

might have a boost gauge for after intercooler and before?..maybe to test for pressure drop?..something i've thought of myself..Lets face it, follow the pipes back and you will see..it not hard.

Two gauges could (should) be for measuring the boost the engine is seeing (inlet manifold) and another to the turbo outlet.

It gives you boost drop across the whole inlet system and lets you see what the turbo is doing which is usful for compressor maps....
