Sorry to go over old ground, but from work I can't get into the topic TD posted about his EBC pads, somthing about profanity...*laughing*

I've decided I can't live with the EBC pads in my daily driver, Theyre crap til they warm up then the work or a little bit and then fade and smell like poridge....and i've soild one to many pair of pants now!

So what pads do you recomend for a 1380 road car? with no servo.

Genune Rover S pads MS part no GBP103AF @£20

Mintex 1144's MS part C8G8995 @about £28?

OR SOMETHING ELSE? bugger.. capslock..

I want somthing that will work from cold but wont fade too much do the 1144 work from cold? how easy do the Std S pads fade?

im using ordinary mintex pads in my car, and they are an improvement over green stuff on the road

my friend has 1144's in his car and they seem fantastic

I've been using the Pukka Rover/unipart S-pads since the EBC fiasco; and they're very good - much better than the last two EBC's - but still not 100% confidence inducing (having driven more with them).
I think I'd just go straight to the 1144's

Have used 1144's extensively in many different cars, you'll be fine with them. The only comment I will make is that in line with all other "uprated pads" I have tried, they will not last awfully long, maybe 10-12k max.

well the 1144's have been in for a week or so now...

report.....

MUCH BETTER THAN EBC'S

Innitially from cold they have good bite, and they are good when hot, no fade as yet when pushing it, but they do require a good push to stop in a hurry when hot, but then i don't have a servo fitted.

overall very happy with them, only issue is they squeal a bit at parking speeds, especialy when reversing, althogh this appears to be getting less. mind you this could well be down to forgetting to copperslip the rear of the pads, and the glasng on the disks from the ebc's.

When i get time ill bung a servo on, they should be excelent then!

Deglase the discs with a bit of emery, this cut down your squeal.
