i spoke to the chairman and technical bod at a mini cooper club and from that information this would sound like a non s head such as the 1300gt. S heads had 4 digit number stamped by the thermostat.

My expert also informed me that there is not any real difference in some of the S and non S heads, but to be genuine S it should have the correct numbers stamped
