As most of us do a lot of work on our cars ourselves, it is essential that we all should use the correct safety gear.

I have managed to get some good deals on a few things using the supplier that supplies my work, I can basically get things at the same price the company pays, (i.e. quite cheap).

So as a starter, I have got hold of a box of 10 pairs of safety glasses, and 5 pairs of proper red suede welding gauntlets. All items are brand new, the glasses are sealed in plastic bags.

These are available to TM members at the following prices-

Glasses (EN166[2001]approved) £2.00/ea plus post at cost
Gauntlets £4.00/pr plus post at cost
Or buy both together for £5.50 plus post at cost

I would like to make it plain that I am not making much profit on this, I am offering them to you in the hope that we can all work more safely in our garages and workshops in the future.

well! i will be having some off tom

as 5 years ago i nearly lost my eye when i was welding stainless steel with MMA stick welder, lifted the welding mask and the slack cracked off in my eye

i had to have a hideous operation to remove "this touch and go"

the pain was mega!!!! to say the least

saftey glasses get scratched over time,very easily!

you only have one set or maybe two!

so.......... over time you thing WELL! i will just do this because the glasses are shite (cant see through them)

thats when it gets you !

honest, dont compramise on the eyes

i wear them when iam stick welding under the head sheild NOW!

No problem guys, 2 pairs of Gauntlets for you.
Wil, the glasses do fit quite well, unlike some of the cheaper ones out there. I will send you some to try, if you don't like them then just let me have them back at some point. I can get ear defenders yes, two types available, Peltor ones with a metal band that sits around the back of your neck (designed to allow them to be worn with a helmet) or there is a cheaper make with a conventional over-head plastic band. I will have to get prices for you though.

I will price postage and let you know tomorrow.

only the other week i was in hospital having some rust removed from the coloured bit of my eye with a needle

Does anyone else want some? As I am not going to buy another box if no-one does as I don't want to get stuck with 10 pairs of glasses....however, if there is a demand I shall get some more in.......

well ive recieved My gauntlets and glasses this afternoon. really pleased with them. They are the best fitting glasses ive ever had. guarantee no one will be dissappointed. Great value for money, well done tom. 8)

well i fancy a pair of goggles but i dont really want 10 pairs who else wants these?

starting a full rebuild....is this a wise choice?

Have got another box arriving Monday so no problem, just to confirm though that they are safety glasses, NOT goggles. I can get goggles if that is what you require.

what the flippinheck are gaunlets?

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Well I haven't seen the ones Tom has sent to Wil's, but I am imagining huge metal gloves that go half way up my arms and will come in handy next time I go jousting.

Failing that just some big gloves.

my specticles arrive this morning (after i forgot to give tom my address)

very comfy, infact so much so i placed them on my dog and he didnt try to remove them

excellent id recommend these, and they should save me another trip to hospital!!
