A guy here at work had a bit of a mishap with his trailer recently - someone sideswiped it and ripped the beam axles off it (snapped the spring shackles cleanly) - or rather just off one side of it...

We've got the trailer upside-down to do the repairs and inspection, but first took the axles off and these have measured up as having a 1/16" toe in between the edges of the 12" drum...

Doing some basic math, this seems like a lot of toe to me - i'd have thought a trailer axle should be zero toe.

So - does anyone have any real factual info on what a trailer axle toe should be? Maybe this is allright? Maybe it is too much? Who knows?

I make sense to me that there may be a bit of toe in, as a bit of self correction, but it probably won't make much difference.
