Can anyone tell me at what rpm the standard contactors are floating?
Do I need electronic ignition on an A-series Turbo?

Cheers

I used to run contactors (or points) up to 7500rpm no problem.

Most turbo engines make maximum power at 6000rpm, so they should be fine.

Electronic ignition is still better though as it never fails in the wet like contactors.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Yeah id agree, points are fine.

Also with it being in a midget the issues of water and wet weather are vastly reduced.

Just get the advance curve altered to suit the engine.
