Hi, bought this shell a few years back to keep as my spare:

decided to use it for my 998 turbo, problem being i havent got a twin bolt subframe for it, and i have loads of single bolt subframes...so...

is it possible to fit a single bolt subby to a twin bolt shell?

Cheers guys

jo

My dad did it to one of my race cars a few years ago, not sure how easy it was - but it can be done.

i looked into it before on my old project, i reckon it can be done but you'd need to sleeve the hole for the tower bolt on the crossmember else it'd squash down.

VERY WIERD....was picking up a brake master cylinder today from an auto shop in town, DMS, and by pure random luck, they were clearing out all their old panels, the bird on the till knew i occasionally buy mini bits and bobs and said i should chat to the boss.

Eended up taking pretty much their whole stock off them for £120, including a twin bolt subframe(!!!!) 2 new rear subframes, 3 sets of vented discs, 5 sets of bendix metro pads and more panels than ill ever need, inc a whole floor pan, whole rear panel, loads of mk1 door skins (ill never need them but got them thrown in), maybe a dozen 'A' panels, 7 triumph track rod ends (will these fit a mini?), loads of rear qtrs, inner wings, 5 metro throttle cables, a rear radius arm etc etc :)

Also blagged a tow bar and back box for my rover 216gti into the deal.

Got so carried away, i left the master cylinder i originally went for on the counter!

My boot:

Anyway, they also have 3 brand new metro turbo calipers, 2 brand new mini calipers, all £50 each. I would get them and put them in stock, but have ran out of overdraft, if theyre of any use to anyone, ill have them put aside for you.

The swap can be done but means changing the cross member for the later one.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
