How about strting with some research, see web site links. Turbo Phil?s site http://www.turbo-mini.com/ has wealth of information. There?s a plenty of others as well. You need to read through them and filter them to meet your needs.

If you don?t have turbo metro setup I would not bother at all finding one.
I would advise against a scatter pattern cam. To be of any use the timing needs to be pretty radical, 286 cam is most likely the mildest that has any benefit of scatter design. On the other hand it is very radical for a turbo use and would need basically a race oriented engine / use. For street you should get a lot milder grind. Thanks, a lot of info there! now, if i dont have a metro setup, where would I find a manifold for a turbo? and i shouldn't use a scatter cam eh? what do u think would be a good cam to use? thanks, josh MINI CLUBMAN GT

Thanks, a lot of info there! now, if i dont have a metro setup, where would I find a manifold for a turbo? Probably the easiest thing to do would be to have one made or do it yourself. there is a chap in Aus who has done this (for a 998 engine actually iirc, but tbh the principle is the same) this has a lot of advantages such as you can use a propper manifold and you can locate the turbo out of the way over the clutch housing. I cant remeber what the guys name is on here, but on minispares/minimania im pretty sure it is james_be. Otherwise either look to import a metty turbo manifold, or maybe look at the mirage manifolds and get a set of them. depends how much time you have, your ability and your inclinatin to spend ?/$ HTH, Pete And on the 7th day........... i think youll find that most people run with a metro turbo carb. the reason being that iy you are using a blow through system (as most are) then it needs to be properly sealed etc. There are a few alternatives. you can run fuel injection and a throttle body. dont completely understand this if im honest, but it doesnt seem to work too well on the a series engine. Someone has written a excelent article on why not (turbodave?)

Lotus Esprit had Dellorto carb, not weber. Renaults used downdaught Webers 32 DAT or something that are useful items.
