I was having a nosey at one of the retailers.

Aftermarket Arrow rods at circa £930 ???

is that a joke, or is it for real ?

I dont recall what length a Mini rod is, but has anyone ever considered getting longer ones made ? along with matching pistons ?

Based on that price, surely a custom made set could be purchased for less !!!!, maybe even with suitable pistons ! lol

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Problem with long rods on long strokes with relatively small bore IE under square, is, the rods foul the bottom of the bore. Spose it depends on what you mean by longer. Pistons already available by JE with low compression hight, something like 6mm if i recall and also have a smaller diameter pin requiring the little end bushing.

Id be going short stroke big bore, then use longer rods, making a 'square' engine with reduced piston side loadings, not just for rev capebility but for better torque. When was the last modern engine designed under square, theyre all over square.

930 does seem a little steep though, have you tried to source some from Carillo.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
