Here's my mini. I don't have a digital camera, so I've had to rely on others to snap up shots of it. Below was when i gave it a quick wash before taking it to the Norcross British Car Fayre (http://www.babg.org/BritishCarFayre.htm).

It's a '94 Rover sold as a '74. The VIN starts off with SAX...I was told by someone at the car show that there are several other locations on the car that should tell the correct VIN, would someone know where those places are?

Front brake pads, retaining clips, valve cover gasket, and rod-change gasket are shipped and on the way. Next pay period I will order the rear brake kit. After that it will finally be on the road.

The rest of what I have taken can be found here, http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j167/cgardnj/

Very nice car, looks a really clean example, any plans of what you'd like to do to the car at all or are you happy to leve it as it is, i think the wheels painted the same colour as the roof would be nice with 165/60/12 tyres, i like it alot, it still suprise's me to think someone from so many miles away checks out the same websites haha!

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

the vin number should be stampted in the bonnet gutter lip on the scuttle panel around the drivers wiper area.

lift up the bonnet look towards the lip on the scuttle panel at the back of the bonnet. pull up any piece of rubber or foam thats in it and remove leefs or dirt and the vin number is under there.*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Im sure if you owned a '74 mini you wouldn't go out of your way to fit side repeaters, later rear lights etc.

Check how many bolts hold the front subby on by the bulk head, mk3 should be solid mount and have two small bolts on each side instead of a large single bolt. *wink*

The guttering on the roof should also have drain holes at the front and back.

Does look smart mind.

The VIN starting SAX will be the original Rover VIN number, as stamped into cars from 1987-ish onwards.

I've been reassured that it is a '94. Fuel injected, 8.4" rotors up front, interior from that year range (think someone said from '92-'96), and the wheels were standard Rover wheels. Definte revin...but I'm not complaining!! The shell is in great condition. Some rust bubbles are starting to pop up on the front panels and the side lips as noted before.

Eventually, I will put a turbo in. Right now I just want to be driving it! Bought it back in May and garaged it three days after purchase. Once the brakes are done, it'll be my daily driver.

I've been reading this site since last year. Decided to finally get serious about buying a mini, I've been reading all that I can. The power gains that some of you have posted only intrigued me more. I shall do what I can to keep up.
