Hey Guys,

I'm still trying to work out the details of my intercooler/chargecooler projected. I am having issues deciding what to get mainly because of the limited space.

Can anyone post some pictures of their intercooler / chargecooler setups so I can get a better idea of where everything would go.

Sorry but here in lovely warm CA its too warm not to have one but no one has any idea how to mod Minis... least of all me *blush*

Any details on the install would be great too... where the parts went... how much lag the intercooler added... average drop in intake temps... bhp difference... boost pressures...

Thanks in advance... I know us Americans can be a pain but I swear I'm nice!

(hope you can view it)
I didnt find lag to be much of a problem but i was only running 7/8 psi think this might change when i start running more boost. as yet i havent tested the pressure drops etc. I found plumbing in to be a pain didnt think that the bonnet would shut lol

The difference between the 2 intercoolers is incredible! First one R5 Turbo/ Series 2 RS Turbo?....You must be able to feel/see an immense difference in power/ cooling? BRILL

No probs mate !
The first one was a Renault 5 unit, this is a good intercooler but due to the positioning didn't give the best results. The alloy front mounted one does the biz ... *wink*

Thanks Guys!!! That's exactly what I wanted to see...

I'll keep you guys posted with my progress over here in sunny CA. The motor should be back together next week and then I have to measure everything for the cooling setup.

Ciao
Francesco

I seem to remember the owner of the norwegian one sent me an email with intercooler details about a year or two ago.

The turbocharger used on the car is a smaller unit, from a daihatsu turbodiesel (?! maybe ?!) and therefore the engine sits a lot further back

this is a custom intercooler, and I don't know how good it is I have some drawings here.
http://home.no.net/dagroar/download/Intercooler2.pdf.
The car is not lengthened as far as I know, but I believe that the IC is very thin.

This one uses a Switcher S1BG turbo. And he got one of those Distributor caps with side entry.
I don't know if he have moved the engine
