So great minds think alike then :)

OK,

a very basic question. How are you going to deal with CR ? 8-port heads typically have chambers around 16 cc.

Well the block pictured had a 5 port head with 28 cc chambers,
and ran at 7:1 comp ratio. So not a bad place to start , i believe 8 ports are cast with 16 cc chambers, but this is so you can machine them to your own preferred shape/size.

Neil, you have mail

Can i just ask, i think i have the same air filter from my metro turbo, its a brand new k&n. On that one it looks like lids on the end of it, just wondering if anyone knows where you can buy these seperately or maybe something you could use to clamp the pipe onto too?

Chris,

i?m a bit confused since I used to have a 8-port head and had trouble getting the CR down to sensible level with n/a engine. Add one to a turbo engine and you will definitely have problems. There is simply not enough material to relieve the chambers to gain low enough CR for turbo use, at least not higher boost levels.
Hope you can prove me wrong...
