managed to get me engine running properly for the first time tonight just to get up to temp so i can re-torque the head down. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

Only experience i had of a smokey breather was cracked compression rings.. almost white smoke could be eather this time of year or burning LOTS of oil, i know coz iv had that too turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

I had the same problem turned out to be cracked piston rings. I did a compression test found the bore that was slightly down on power and put some oil down the bore to seal the ring then tryed a compression test again.... This showed the same compression as the other three bores. i wouldnt take it for a run to try and clear it i did as a result i cracked the piston and scored the bore. cost me a lot of dosh :( |

That smoke is from blow by... exh gasses are getting down past the rings...
