if I am at the main page of the forum, and see a red "page". It tells me that there are unread topics inside that section, but the red "page" continues to be there after the topic inside the section is read.

if you hover over the red icon for the forum section, you'll see that it indicates that the forum has posts since your last visit - doesnt matter if you've read them or not.

okay, but it does not disappear after I have read posts either. and next time I visit I still have the red icon on a post I read last time (no new posts since last time). So it does not look like its working like it used to on the old version.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

when you type a reply to a long thread you go to the start of the thread (into several pages), is this right?

Id have thought it should go to the last post also.

Heres another

Just come back onto the forum and everything is marked as read, yet there are new replies to topics or new topics.

Not so much a problem as a nice to have:

Would it be possibl for the the post dates to contain year as well as the day and month, as it's hard to gauge how old / stale topics are when search old threads.

Good stuff Alex, one minor thing, under new topics etc it used to have page numbers next to them so it was quicker to get to the end, prob just me being picky though lol.

Although the date (day/month) are shown in posts - the year of the post would be usefull to stop ancient posts being resurected.

Moderators can't lock posts.

Other stuff is little glitches that i can cope with :)

yes, I also seem to have all kinds of strange trouble with the new topics and the read label on new ones. I am working on both firefox and IE too.

new forum looks a lot more modern, although i didnt think there was nowt wrong woth the last one *wink*

few probs ive come across:

the search throws up hundreds of 'woo's which you have to scroll down through before getting to the results

also, when typing a title, when ever you use the shift button for capitals or hifens or whatever it comes up with a '/'

and, the search doesnt seem to work aswell as it used to, tried loads of word combinations to find an 'oil banjo thread size' and the search function doesnt seen to like the word 'thread'; and wont give me any results if i include it...?

anyway, ungrateful winge over :)
