I thought that it would be a good idea to use the car to get to work this morning.

I need to do a few hundred miles on the new engine to run it in a bit. My 100 mile trip to work would be ideal.

Anyway, I've beeen having a bit of trouble with the cheap Quickshift I bought. It sometimes wont go into top gear, but I thought I was getting the hang of it and it was OK.

Well, I got about 30 miles into the trip and lost top gear altogether. The shifter will not go into the gate.

Had to turn round and go back. 30miles at 4000rpm in third did not seem to harm the engine and the clutch oil seal survived.

I'm sure it is the shifter because I could not get any gears at all when I first fitted it. It took some fettling to sort it out.

Can anyone recommend a "good" quality quickshift or has anyone else had this problem and sorted it?

Thanks

Pooh.

£90 and it looks identical to the one I've got!

looks identical probably because people keep making cheap and poor quality copies (like you have)..

KAD quickshifts are beautifully made and work fantastically.

Are you sure its not a problem with your 'box and the quickshift is just inhancing the problem.

Although it was cheap it Should still function properly (should be able to select every gear) even if it isnt as smooth as the more expensive ones.

I dont think its the box. I checked that out when I could not get the shift to work in the first place.

I'll just bit the bullet and buy a KAD one.

Sorted.

Fitted the KAD Quickshift this morning.

Now that is the Mutts Nutts.

But over £100 with postage. *frown*
