Hi there,

I'm tyring to fit some new door locks to my Dads Clubby estate, we would like the same key for the side and back doors. Does anyone know is it possible to change the barrel from a mini saloon boot and it in the lock for the estate?

The barrels are the same if I remember right, you can buy a new set for not much money though?

can you buy just the barrels?

I have just found out that the boot handle is the same from the Mk1, Mk11 saloon on the estate.

Yes, minispares etc will (or they used to?) sell a kit with three barrels and a pair of keys.

cool, I'll have a look.

how do you get the barrels out?

One of the door handles I don't have a key for, is this going to be a problem?

no, its pretty straigth forward, at least on my MK1, it was just a matter of using some fluid to make it loosen up, and removing a pin that held the barrel in place.

No kay wan not a problem on my MK1, as I did not have mine either.

Last time I put the locks in I drilled a hole and used a splitpin,instead of the springy clips which all ended up in the bottom of the doors
