The barrels are the same if I remember right, you can buy a new set for not much money though?

can you buy just the barrels?

Yes, minispares etc will (or they used to?) sell a kit with three barrels and a pair of keys.

no, its pretty straigth forward, at least on my MK1, it was just a matter of using some fluid to make it loosen up, and removing a pin that held the barrel in place.

Last time I put the locks in I drilled a hole and used a splitpin,instead of the springy clips which all ended up in the bottom of the doors
