Am I looking for a

MAP ? Manifold absolute pressure

or a

MAF ? Mass air flow

sensor. Not sure, but from the definitions I've found it would appear to be 2 ways of doing the same thing.

MAP sensor - You want the Magnetti Marreli unit as fitted to Cosworths. I'd recomend the 2.5Bar unit as the one to aim for, maybe even the 3Bar unit? Whichever one doesn't really matter, but you might be able to source a 2.5Bar unit cheaper secondhand.

This covers everything from the basics of why you need to spark at the right time, right through to latest OEM trick stuff. Covers lots of stuff about 'aftermarket' systems aswell, and has a 'demo' version of Emerald software to have a play with!
oh, also a very good insight into DCOE's, but an acknowledgement that they are inferior to carbs...

FInding a three bar senor 2nd hand will be hard work... you can get them new SCC or Motorsport Developments stock them new but at a price!

A std cossy sensor (2.5 bar is escort cossy I think) should do you find

Seen some on ebay, but I can't be bothered with ebay at all - too much hassle.

Probably miss some bargains but I'm not going to lose sleep over it

2.5bar is Escort Cosworth...

3 bar ones do appear on market - as i'm aware, they are now re-introduced, so are easy to locate new anyway

I have a friend at a Ford magazine who is on the lookout for bits for me :)
