im thinking of doing up my mini to turbo spec, for use track days and general runabouts.

I looked at mirage setup. Turbo behind the engine.. Wont that generate serious amount of heats after prelonged high rpm on track day, and hard to cool down as there isnt much cold air circling around the back of a-series?

Is turbo mini is ideal track day toy?

Well that is exactly what i am doing i just wont be running silly boost to ensure reliability. Just remember most track days are split into session so you will not be out on track for hours at a time more 30 minute stints.

mine is fine with the mirage set up, although temps do creep up, but im pretty sure they would with the other turbo set ups.

you dont stay out long on a track day anyway, (well the ones ive done) 15-20mins

you'll get pissed off though, as those damn westfield things keep passing you

init, if your giving it some stick you shouldnt be getting passed more than a couple of times at most trackdays and even then only be folk who know what they are doing (there arnt many)

not that im an expert or anything, far from it!

thats the main problem, i dont know what imdoing, i rollintocorners and then think "i could of gone faster round there"

plus with the joys of coilovers needing stiffer springs my front insidewheel goes all light, however idont sorting the handling would make much difference
