I guess this is par for the course for an MPI. With only a little over 30000 miles the cam and cam bearings are showing some good wear.

They're all like that. Remember, that cam bearings are soft as pudding. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

The only one important difference in with the MPi cam and that is not the bearings or their journals.

on the subjec of MPI block quality, my mates block had a hossing great crack in it from the factory, only discovered it when the engie was pulled to have a swiftune conversion. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

we used to have a mini that had a pourous gear casing from the factory
