next year i lpan to put an r1 in the front of my mini. well i hope to anyway.

now i'm left with a difficult decision. i got two minis one a std 1275 nice solid shell slight rust on front but will front flip if i keep it so no big deal, crappy engine. the second is a ver nice tax exempt clubman shell, deseem'd, an ok blue though dont like the paint job myself. but all in all a sound car.

so do i next year, sell the turbo engine, and keep the benifits of the clubman shell, although there will be problems with rust later as it is deseem'd..seeing as this has coil overs and cooper-s set up it could be a nice lil straigth swap and then i can sell the other daily drive.

or

sell the turbo as a whole car, bearing in mind it probably wont be getting much use as i am just replacing the turbo and doing the head gasket and as the engine is pretty much a new rebuild with about 400 miles on it. i would of course nick the coilovers off it and the 10" disc and swap them over to the std mini and put the r1 in that.

the benifits of this are that i can get panels replaced if anything happens and front flip it meaning less to rust.

obviously thee is a lot of time for me to think about this but i'm really struggling, i see benifits of doing both just so hard to even think of making a decision.

I agree with Benross.

Im sure there is many ways you could improve the performance of your current engine without resorting a to bike engine!

Shropshire.

Just buy an R1..(if you have too *tongue*).. Then develop the mini turbo, best of both.

why not buy a zx12r? They cheaper than an R1 and faster than a busa.
I would sell the turbo if it was me

One of my favourite minis ever is that yellow one with front wheel drive and a bike engine. If you can pull it off nicely, then it would be awesome.. but it will still only be as quick as a turbo mini, and wont have that noise..

Would it be as quick as a turbo mini?

There is not a lot of torque in an R1 is there?
