i'm off to the pod for some night racing this weekend, strip running till 9pm, on sat,

so lets see if i can get some sence out of my sodding car ,after all the shit its thrown at me lately,lol

rubbish weekend,
fooking Pod ,allowing 300 drivers to sign on on sunday ment a 2 hour que, between runs if you were desperate enough for the track time,
i wasn't !!!.

my car played up on sat ,appeering to bog badly on the 2nd gear launch and taking forever to clear up and run anything like clean,
it also appeared to be selecting different gears, with the front engind doing more revving than the rear,
but today on my only run it dawned on me my front clutch coulb be slipping badly under full power on gas.because by the time it selected 4th gear and the nitrous built up ther front i noticed the front engine tacho showing 9100rpm and the rear showing just ovewr 4000,
so called it a day .
one thing that did astonish me was on sat night in the dark i had a run using gas, and was partially entranced by the 1ft high flames comming out the frong exhausts, and that the middle pipe was glowing red by 1/2 track, just before i abandoned the run due to the clutch prob..

matt ran before me and complainmed of verypoor traction , but by the time i ran some heat must have got into the trrack as i bogged the rear engine down even though i was using 1st gear as a precaution..
so basically it was a crap event ,not helped by poor marshalling with regard to tossers que jumpimg ,which boils my blood, and also being told by a dickhead security dork not to test in the pits,
even though id gone to the very top out of everyones way to try perfect some kind of launching technique,
all this after i'd witnessed all manor of cars and bikes driving like real wankers all day long on saturday,
fear not i ripped into him with a rake of fucks, to the point where i got the old "i'm only doing my job"
i told him if hed hauled his arse out of bed an hour earlier hed have seen far worse by dickhead hatch drivers arriving, BAC.

a shit day at a poorly run event,

Sorry for got to put the lack of grip (2.890 sec 60 foot lol) . was even spinning in forth right near and possible over the line, car was going well Alex. All on video i think so will post link when it's been uploaded, should look funny.

yes the whole thing is getting to busy. The Ques were right up past the 1/4 mile sign at points!

I did another run with lower tyre pressures but it helpped but nothing special.

I saw miniwilliams, I reckon you must have done half amile with all the torque steer zig zagging lol. I wasnt running but wouldnt have wanted too, the Q was looping round the top toilet!!

yes it did move about a bit, yes the Qs were bloody silly, never seen them so big!

yeah, that was pretty shit. I still prefer avon though. They should put a limit on the amount of cars that can run, queues just get stupid otherwise.

Thats how it is evey where Alex, sadly enough. At santa pod the weekend, the drag people went straight to the front of que!

well i finally had oppertunity to get the mini out onto a big piece of tarmac to try diagnose the apparent missmatch of engine speeds under load,had a drive up and down and all the gogs go in both boxes fine even during quick changes,
so managed to get ip on the cams in a high gear and give it some beens [using nitrous] to make sure plenty torque was being tranfered, and as soon as the gas hit the front clutch pun up as if i was blipping the clutch, i did it a good few times to make sure i had the diagnosis correct, by which time it would do it without gas, so it really buggered now ,

and its all my fault as ive cocked up when i rerbuilt /faced the two clutches up prior to the showdown,

oh well roll on next year,lol.
