Despite searching for info of choice of bearings I haven’t found what I was after, but I did find an interesting post by Benross about turbo bearings and cross drilling the crank.

Anyway back to the point of my new post, does anyone have any preferences over make of bearing and if so why? I've used Vanderal in the past on Nat Asp engines and I've had not problems with them (I've also heard good things from other people about them) but the man in the pub reckons that Glacier bearings hold up better in turbo lumps (I'm guessing less revs & more torque makes a difference hear).

So what do people use and why? The why is probably more important to me and I like to know why I do thinks as opposed to someone else said it was a good idea.

I've always used Verderal in my turbo engines, never had a problem, when they come out, they still look really good.

I have used both in the past and not had any problems with the bearings themselves.

Just make sure that your oilways are clean (e.g. pull gallery plugs and brush through, also brush crank drillings out) and you build it carefully with no shite anywhere and you should be OK.

Im doing a bit of experimenting with bearings, not that it helps you at this moment in time.

Vanderval are going in my own NA engine
glacier in the 998 turbo
and some different ones in the charged engine, name escapes me at the moment.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

ACL Duraglide maybe? Thats what I have got in my NA screamer at the moment. The name reminds me about a packet of condoms, but they have lasted longer than the Vandervels now:)

So, heavily into condoms Andre? I don' t understand that one bearing can be much better than another. I mean, they never touch the crank anyway!

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
