I use Morspeed and found the price and quality is spot on, plus he will help you pick and choose whats best suited for your needs.
He can get swamped with orders so its possible there might be a waiting list so to speak...

All i can guarantee is that the phrase "you pays yer money, you takes yer choice" and "you get what you pay for" applies.

An engine built by swiftune, OAP, et al will cost more than an engine built by others for a reason...

Like comparing a Barratt house to a similar looking place costing significantly more,.

i suggest that you please do a little reading on the pros and cons of big turbo displacement engines and the expence & skill required to keep it all togeather.

big turbo displacement engines are attainable, but.................................. dont jump in there both feet first !

you will be better off with a smaller over bore and start from there.

I can see where turbo dave is coming from saying you pays your money but ive done this with med and heard bad things from people so i want to know builders people have actually dealt with and would recommend there work as med werent cheap

Benross i already have a turbo engine but am unsure which way to go as the car was gonna be fast road so med said the turbo engine now i want to go full track work so i want to know if what i have got the 1293cc turbo engine or a 1460 all stell will be better and who people would recommend to build it

the 1293 route will be better as getting tthe compression ratio to a sane level with the 1460 for you, would be nightmare and massive expence as well

like Turbo Dave states you pay your money

and thats it!!!..........

iam inclined to agree with him
anything can go wrong in the real world

we cannot say oh! go there, go here

thats up to you!

yep i have spoken to friends and a lot of said a well tuned all singing all dancing 1460 all stell will be good for 150bhp whereas a turbo with the bits ive got and a intercooler should make a 150bhp fairly easy, so is my best bet to go to morspeed, avonbar or vmax scart or tom fenton as it will probably be kept as a turbo engine

stowmaket suffolk

either that or get it all machined and build it your self, its not that difficult as long as you follow the rules. eg getting the ring gaps correct ect.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

i use OAP

Oz at oap builds all the engines himself with the same attention to detail, he does not have emplyees so you are sure hes done the work.

my engine has failed in the past but that was my fault, with poor setting up etc

all i would say is try the rest, waste your money, then try OAP

Oz worked for Lancia many moons ago then avonbar for many many years where he did a lot of development work.

Morspeed worked for MED and has worked with, and gains parts from OAP

Vmax scart was Oz's apprentice at avonbar (Oz's description of stuart)

it may sound like ive got my head up his arse but ive never known anyone to complain about one of his engines and they last.

he has a sign in his workshop

FAST, RELIABLE, CHEAP
choose any 2 of the above
