I am in the process of striping a turbo engine i rescently purchased and after taking the cylinder head off noticed it had double valve springs fitted which i thought wasnt standard on any A series engine so it got me thinking why it had been done?

I decided to check the cam out to see if it was standard or not and it clearly has a number 2 stamped on the oil pump end of the camshaft *surprised*. Checked another standard engine im building as well and the cam in that has nothing stamped on the end as expected for a standard cam.

Does anyone know what cam it would be having the 2 stamed on it????????

Standard turbo had twin springs.

Standard cam is same as stock A+ 1275 cam. Easy check - measure one lobe - peak height minus base-circle diameter and this is the lift. compare to the factory figures to see if it's stock lift or not. If it is stock lift - guaranteed it's a stock duration...

I wasnt planning on changing the cam at the moment so didnt really want to take it out, was hopeing someone would recognise the 2 on the end as a specific cam or make
