We have at work a mobile device to measure all kinds of data, such as torque, thrust, pressure, rotation, RPM, time etc.etc.
With some extra tools I would be able to attach it to the drive shaft and measure the deformation of the material and convert that to torque, NM or whatever HP. The device will put the data to a datalogger or laptop in a graph. Its basically the same sort of electronic equipment as found in brake test facilities and related RR,s. It is also very easy to calibrate.

Question now is: what do I measure exactly on the driveshaft? and what kind of considerations should I put in the equasion?

Is it worth wile to have a play with this? suggestions
are appreciated, any thoughts? if so I have even more questions.
Please be informed that we have not many RR's around. So a mobile test thing would be the works.
