just have it on a map sensor trigger ,switches off below .95 bar .and through a rpm switch so it doesnt fire up below whatever rpm you feel is safe ... just dont run a progressive controller without a 2nd n2o back up solenoid.

colin heres a bit of threadage , i thought you might find it interesting , its a bit egotesticle on there though lol.

Activation via VEMS N2O control. various choice for activation with ignition retard of user definable amount. Newer firmwares now have warning features. Setting lambda to de activate the N2O via a relay should give some protection, how quick, i have no idea. Resume is on either a timed or rpm trigger.

As for failure of N2O solenoid, this wont be a problem as the engine will run pig rich. Its the failure of the fuel solenoid that worries me. However, I trust Highpower's gaurantee on their solenoids *happy*

the failure of the n2o sol is not affected by the mix col ,what happened with a bini cooper s of a freind of mine is this ...
he was running a progressive controller ,without the 2nd back up n2o sol as advised in the instructions ,,driving down the m27, i think it was ,
and pulled over on the hard shoulder for some reason ,he thought he was out of n2o at the time ,he then turned the ign key to pos 2 ,the one before cranking ....

BOOOOM.

total damage included ,

inlet manifold in a grenaded multi
component state

intercooler inflated to twice normal size

radiator and air con rad both bent like bananas

inner wing plastics shattered

bonnet blown and distorted up like a blow fish approx 10 inches .

what happens is the pulsed sol on a progressive system gets a bit leaky ,and let n2o into the manifold ,then on turning the key the waste spark put out a spurious spark on a open inlet valved cylinder .

he called me up just after it happened and we spent a good 15 minutes giggling like a pair of schoolgirls lol

Wasn't a Highpower system then?

*wink*

How could a back up solenoid prevent the primary solenoid from leaking? unless it is in series and what is to say the back up solenoid woildnt suffer the same fate as the primary solenoid if its being used in the same manor *oh well*

no not high power ..

colin it acts in series ,but opens fully upon activation ,then the progressively controlled sol works by pulsing open and closed .then , when system is not delivering gas ,the back up sol closes fully.

if i member correctly , i think trevor has said that there is no way you need a 2nd sol with his system ? so if thats all ok and works well and with total reliability after a lot of miles ,then youv got no problems.
