Ahh bugger, bad luck, hope its nothing to serious.*frown*

Have you had a chance to pull the head yet?

Just a wild guess, but it could be the centre brass plug in the head sunk causing the gasket to go.

A blown copper head gasket ??

Based on my own limited one time experience with them......sounds fairly normal.

Think I got about 15 miles on one. Never again.

When others here normally seem to reccomend the BK450, why did you go down the copper route ?

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

no carl, bronze

to top it all the valve on the head is bent ?

but no Signs of of any marks whatsoever ever on the piston ??

Stevie turbo the AF460 gasket did not over shadow the bore as much as the BK 450

the 450 is only a ""nats" though
not an issue realy as i spaced the the 2 centre bores a little more further out, an extra 0.005" as from the norm

leeds/wakefield.

in that case youv'e probably been running too tight a clearance in the guide .who set the clearance??.

Holy s**t....bent valves doesnt sound good ???

Any ideas what might have caused that ??

My AF460 blew, I dont think I had even used much boost at the time. Blew between 2-3 on a 1293.
I used it, because I had always read mags, where people said copper head gaskets were the gasket to use.
Naturally I am now very sceptical of a lot of tuners reccomendations.
