is it possible to swap a airbag mini steering column and switches?

is it possible to remove an airbag steeringwheel and column and switches and everything from a sportspack mini and put them in a normal mini like mine? Im wanting to swap them over, but is it possible? Will all the wires and bolts and things be different? anyone ever done it?

Also, what about the intermittant wipers isthat controlled by the motor or the steering column switches? thankyou :) :)

I have never done it but i dont see why it is not possible. It will depend if you want the air bag to work or not though. If you are planning on just using the wheel so it looks like a mpi mini then yes. However I would not start messing about with the air bag system just plainly due to the fact this could be dangerous whilst fitting and in the case of an accident if you actually get it to work and the air bag is triggered at the wrong angle etc.

Oh you may need the ignition barrel off the mpi as well

Yes it is possible, although the bracketry on the bodyshell is different on the MPI cars where the column attaches at its upper point on the dash rail.
Some modification of wiring loom will be required, the intermittant wipers need a seperate relay.

Not that hard to figure it all out, I managed it.

no not me stig i dont sell things on ebay. its not the steering wheel im after, infact id rather not have that, but i just want the stalks and column surround if thats possible?
