If by rebuild you mean "rebuild using standard spec parts" then you have no chance of achieving your power targets.

If by rebuild you mean "rebuild with carefully chosen (and expensive) performance parts, including all the induction, fuel, turbo etc parts, not forgetting a £1500 gearbox" then approaching 200bhp is perfectly possible, as a few of the guys on here can prove.

I suggest you do some reading of the forums, all the info is on here, but no-one will hand it to you on a plate, you need to do some reading and research.

a 200bhp mini will be about the same power to weight ratio as the skyline, should be very entertaining!

my limited knowlege of minis says that the mtero turbo engine was right on the limit as standard, so upgrades are essential to keep it all together. And the gerboxes are shoddy, chocolate gears *wink*

No, I must argue with you there.

After extensive research and testing I have decided that in actual fact they are made of a special grey grade of sponge cake.

i went in a skyline with a claimed 650bhp and it felt slow compaired to the mini

the skyline may be faster (but i dont think so) but the 4x4 makes it sensible to drive. put all the power through the front wheels, restrict yourself to 165 wide tyres and you have a complete animal!!

also being surrounded by tinfoil, held up by rubber bands, and sitting only 6" off the floor, all combine to make the feel like its going twice as fast!

The imp was always like this, a 50mph blast down some country backroads was always an exciting experience. We would have to do about double the speed in my dads evo to get it to feel anything close to the imp!
