Hi guys, ive spent time reading through the search section )which is great alex), but cant quite find my answer.

Ive fitted my 3-way bleed valve as follows, 1st end pipe to the actuator, the middle pipe to the comp housing and the other end pipe to the out side air.

The problem is, wether my bleed valve is shut or not im getting 12 psi constant, which is dangerous seeing as my engine is standard!

below is the link to the bleed valve i have.

it may b small but it purfectly formed

It sounds like someone has either fitted an uprated actuator or increased the preload on the standard actuator.

Try adjusting the actuator rod to make it longer, that should give you less boost.

I agree with Tom, or could be a sticking wastegate, they can seize up.

could also be an air leak, check all the pipes are nice and tight and have no splits

What does it boost to without the bleed valve?

Not sure about the actuator but if you want the numbers and things that are on my standard one to compare to yours ill go find out for you

if you plumb the actuator directly to the plenum, then it should run at 4psi max if std.

prob the quickest and simplest way if youve got a boost gauge.

actuator directly to the plenum? how do i do that? all i have is the one pipe from the actuator to the compressor housing.
feebleuk, when i still had it connected to the ecu it was boosting normally, 4psi up to 7psi through the revs. But i havent tried it without the bv or the ecu! something else to try!

I think we need a diagram here of how you have plumbed it in.

I think that the "compressor housing" and "outside world need" to be swapped over.

The valve works by a needle and seat effort, when you unscrew the adjuster the air bleeds through the centre hole.

The way you have it plummed seems to be bleeding constantly, and the adjuster wouldn't work at all.
