One of my jobs for this winter is to sort out the suspension on my Midget, as well as being too high the car has way too much body roll for my liking. Now as far as I can tell there are three things that effect body roll, spring strengths, dampers & anti roll bars. However I'm not a suspension engineer so rather than just guessing what I should adjust first I would like a few opinions, especially as I don't want any more over stear.

Now as well as trying standard up rated parts there are a few other options which I could try:

1) MGB dampers on the front, as well as being stiffer they also provide better location of the Kingpins, especially under breaking due to the twin arms, also the require adaptor plates to fit so I can change the camber and caster at the same time if I want.

2) Mini Spax front dampers on the rear, apparently telescopic dampers are meant to be superior to the leaver arm things which BL fitted and they have the advantage of being adjustable.

3) Rose jointed anti roll bar links, might take a bit out the system and stiffen it up, but that's just a guess.

So does anyone (Arno) have any ideas?

Anti rolbar kits and telescopic damper sets are commonly available with the regular MG spare suppliers chain people.
But I suggest to lower it first.
I haven't mounted any one of those kits, but i am planning to fit an anti rolbar kit in the future, the armstrongs work oke for roaduse for now.

Lowering it is first on my list of things to do (I think I mentioned that in my other thread)

Do you have anti roll-bar at the moment? IIRC the early Midgets didn't have them but the MK3 on had a 1/2" bar fitted as standard but I think that's a bit weedy and I'm toying over upgrading to a 5/8" ARB, I'll let you know how I get on.

As for telescopic dampers I was going to go for the cheapskate option:

Although I might use a set of adjustable Spax dampers instead of stock Mini ones.

As mentioned I have no telescopic dampers or rolbar fitted, I am fairly happy*smiley* with the handling,
Armstrong shock are not that bad for road use, certainly on the back end, keep it soft to keep it to the ground.
I am planning on an antirolbar but at a later stage. I first want to attack the ignition.
