can anything be done before installing new flywheel on crank
so it's not a pain upon removal?
did a search all i get is every idea about removal of flywheel
thanks people

check the 3/8" / M10 threads are chased cleanly, lap the flywheel on using super-fine lapping paste, clean crank and flywheel tapers with something like acetone that leaves no residue, torque flywheel up to factory specs, use loctite instead of a locktab (pre-verto), etc...

Basically - if you do all that, it'll come off with a puller and a good sharp blow. If it frets and welds onto the crank, it'll definately not come off easilly. :)

Ive always found putting the puller on, tensioning it up and getting a heat gun on it does the job! *wink*

Or if you haven't got a heat gun, put the puller on, tension it up, a leave it over night, come back in the morn and it'll be off!

its well worth getting a proper puller rather than the cheap draper one, the draper on's ok tig you get a stubborn flywheel.
