What do the old thrusts actually measure? Are they worn by a thou or two? Can you mike them up and compare what a new one is?

Done a search but cant find the answer. I measured the crank endfloat on strip down of my A+ 998 at 0.004" My latest Haynes say that it should be 0.002 to 0.003. An old Haynes, pre A+, says 0.001 to 0.005. I'm sure I read somewhere in one of the Vizard books that you should increase the clearance over standard for high performance use. The problem is that, even if I could get hold of some +0.003 thrust washers, I would then have only 0.001. Shall I leave it as it is? On 5th Sep, 2011 Vegard said:

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
