depends which ones you're getting.

We fitted the 7.9" vented setup onto antons, using normal 8.4" hubs and fitted 10" revo's over em....just, there's 40thou between the calliper and the wheel.
the only thing i cant remember is what drive flanges you have to use.

I thought they were gash personally, they bulge when you stand on the brakes and it took us ages to get em bled properly aswell.

I've not used Minisport calipers but I have experience of them on friends cars. To my mind they aren't all they could be, certainly the Mini Spares ones are better.

To answer your question though you will need hubs from any disk braked car and the 'right' wheels as bud says.

The drive flanges for them I believe (but I may be wrong) are the standard 8.4 Mini ones. I am sure one of my friends got caught out with this when changing from Metro 4 pots and had to replace his drive flanges with Mini ones. He was most annoyed as he'd got rid of the ones originally on his car when he went to the Mety calipers. He's tighter than a ducks back passage so we all got much enjoyment from taking him to Min-Its to buy some new ones and making him reward us with a pint after too!!!

A lesson learn which should be communicated to all girlfriends and wives "never throw anything Mini relted away .... you WILL need it!!!"

yep the flanges used are 8.4 mini ones, the vented disks in the kit have about 1/2" taken off the bell to fit.

could be mistaken but i thought

vented discs = vented flanges

and

non vented =non vented flanges

otherwise surely the disc spacing in relationship to the caliper would be all to cock?

i.e the vented flange is thinner to allow for the thicker disc

i thought that too until i came to fitting my Kad 6 pot's, i'd bought metro flanges and vented disks, upon sliding the caliper onto the disk there was a hossing great gap between caliper and hub.

bought mini flanges, the disk contacts the hub and the caliper is too far in, I think it mentions something on kads website that made it click, basicly if you buy vened disks there is a big 45 degree chamfer (like 10mm) where the drive flange bolts on, on the modded disks you can see this is either not there or only very small.

From what I remember the following is the case

Mini calipers and KAD calipers Mini flanges

Metro calipers (vented or std) metro flanges as the ofset is in the disc (original metro vented discs where just the standard calipers with a spacer in IIRC)

Mini spares calipers used to be for Mini flange fitting but I have seen on set of alloy calipers, which I ws told where from Mini Spares which needed mety flanges.

I hope that helps ... if I am wrong somebody please tell me as I am about to buy some new flanges for my girlfriends Mini.....

thts the way i understand it to...

except the last bit, I would assume minipares calipers would need mini flanges but not having used them a may be wrong.

just to confirm, waht i meant in my post

vented metro flange + vented metro disc fits vented metro caliper (obviously)

8.4 mini flange +8.4 mini disc fits 8.4 mini caliper, kad calipers, and i suspect S calipers and other aftermarket 4 pots

8.4 mini flange + modded vented metro disc fits kad and aftermarket calipers

note i am only talking in terms of offset and NOT diameter.

just had a look on mininspares site,

the do different calipers as Roger suggests,

if you want vented discs you either use metro flanges and a 4 pot to suit the metro flange (It says in the minispares descriptions),

or a mini flange with a modded metro disc and either kad calipers or 4 pots to suit mini flanges.

If that makes sense!!
