How can i tell apart all the diffrent cylinder head whitout opening them.

I might buy a bmw head for my engine, but the seller dont know what type it is.
I was aming for a 16 valv head.

I thought the K100 head was the 8 valve head, you should be able to tell by removing the cam cover and counting the number of lobes which will correspond to the number of valves!

I have an unleaded K100 head with throttle bodies that you can have for £140. I bought it as a spare for my project but now not needed.
