hi there i am just about to fit my engine in my mini and i am still not sure on what pipes i should be using to connect the intercooler. i have see a few pics, but none that are up close. can any one help me pleas,

An intercooler goes between the compressor side of the Turbo and the into the plenum. You can cut the existing trunk on the plenum or make an adaptor, as shown here -

yea i have done all of that, it just finiding the right pipeing to use to conect the intercooler and wat is the best route around the bay

depends where your putting the cooler? ideally you want to keep the intercooler pipes as short as posible to reduce lag, however you also want it to be nice and cold so as to increase the charge density so you want it mounted in the airflow at the front. bit of a comprimise needed really.

with regards to pipework, im inteding on using some lengths of ali pipe and just use silicon on the bends. just need to make sure that you use piping that will hold up to about 20psi, and you should be fine. ive seen it don with silicon hosing all the way, im only going to use pipe because i can get it a lot cheaper than silicon hosing and i've got a good friend who can tig weld!
