First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

grrr im having immense trouble fitting everything under my engine bay but my latest problem is one i wasnt expecting!

im using a mirage kit and thus not using a metro turbo manifold, but my howley one that was sat on the garage floor. This gives the problem that the plenum is touching the bulkhead, and it sits very high so my dumpvalve is a good 1.5" out of the bonnet.

I can solve the dumpvalve prob using a bent hose, but is there another manifold that doesnt protrude so far or bring up the carb so high and as far back?
Or can i remove that black plastic spacer and shorten the studs?

cheers

I saw an howley manifold recently and it seem to haven't the samez design as others, i would try std metro or cooper, or a minispare one , or looking like this,or why not use the mety manifold as it will help in mixture delivery ..... and will flow the same as an mg/minispare/cooper etc ....

yeah ive got a normal mg one lying on the other side of the garage floor, i just couldnt be bothered to file the flanges flat
if i could find a turbo one for sensible money i would try it, but all the ones i come across are stupid money

what does that plastic spacer do anyway?

yeah ill take lots of piccys, im still waiting for the manifolds because the mounting plate for the turbo has been made wrong.

no turbo box or bulkhead mods what so ever, hopefully they should be here in the next two weeks, ive got the rest of the engine in, so im hoping it dont have to take it back out
