hi, im in need of some advice. i have fitted a turbo technics kit to my mini. it is a 'suck through' system using Garrett/AIResearch T2 unit. and as far as im aware, it is running the same wastegate actuator as the R5 GTT.
first of all, im running a HIF44 carb. what needle should i start with to get the fuelling somewhere near sensible?
secondly, i intend on running the engine with standard metro compression as the engine is a low mileage unit and im not in a hurry to rip it apart and fit low comp pistons. i dont intend to run excessive boost as the car is driven daily but what sort of boost would i be able to get away with?
Any advice and information on the turbo technics kit gratefully received as im finding it hard to find any information on this particular setup.

I dont know much about the setup but as far as the compression boost is concerned it will be the same as the standard metro turbo engine. plenty of info on the site check the FAQ etc

when i say standard metro compression, i mean the compression on the engine from a standard metro not the turbo

The sntandard Metro and the Metro turbo did have the same Compression ratio of 9.4:1.

I understood the 'typical' 1275 metro was 9.75:1 ?

suck through? you will need a standard profile needle for that! not the Turbo ones!

Best bet is try winsu program, that should get you in a ball park, but from there i doubt there will be many that can tell you. It will mostly be down to rolling road sessions.

Dave is right about the compression ratio, its the later non Cooper mini 1275s that are 9.4:1

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I've always been really interested in this set up. There's a van on ebay for sale at the moment with a TT kit on it. I'd love to see any pics you have of it. *happy*
